Der Non-Marxismus. Finance, Maschinen, Dividuum

Non-Marxism is the first text in geman language, which presents François Laruelles concept of Non-Marxism with reference to his Non-standard-philosophy. Its the goal of Laruelle to reduce the philosophical components of marxism to escape from a self-centered marxism to actualize a new generic science. Yet Laruelle conceptualizes his own science-fiction still on the terrain of philosophy.

Szepanski uses the detailed discussion of Laruelles concept of Non-marxism to rethink methodological aspects of a marxist theory of capital and finance. Contrary to Laruelle Szepanski is more interested in the critics of economy through generic science, in the critical analysis of the immanent regularity of capital and the relations to modern finance. Szepanski stresses the crucial part of speculative money-capital (derivatives) for the maintenance of capitalist power-relations.

if capital has the capacity to set itself as an end it dominates the spheres of production and circulation. At the same time analysis has to start not from individual capital but Gesamtkapital as determination in the last instance, so that one should start reading the three volumes of Marx` Kapital  from the end. Finance is the central nervous system for capital. Finance does not sit on the top of a so called real economy, is not a seperated part of economy or an own institution, it pervades all organisations and all activities in economy. Financial capital has created with derivatives a new form of speculative capital which functions as a technology of power.

In his analysis of machines Szepanski contradicts the common position of understanding technics as  neutral means which can be used by capital or alternatively by a postcapitalist system. He analyses the specific inscription of capital into machine-human and machine-machine relations, which both insist on non-linearity. There has been divided between the industrial and the digital model. For the last algorithm as fixed capital is constitutive. As power signs mathems and semiotics evaluate the capitalization of the future.

The modern subject is called “dividuum”.
