… Globalization is something much more than a mutual institutional contract between sovereign nation-states that can be unilaterally challenged. Globalization is the irreversible new form of capitalism. The reproduction of social power relations is intertwined with the workings and the historical norms of globalization (Sotiropoulos et al . 2013).
